I cannot the school year is wrapping up and coming to an end!  It has been a great year with the kids!  The kids at school really shine.  Such talent, kindness and hard work from the parents is apparent in what I see in my class everyday. 
1st grade-  We are recording "Que Canten los Ninos"  for our twining parish in Honduras.  Please help the kids submit their pictures for the book! 

2N:  "Awesome God" in Spanish.  The kids will be get recorded for this song next week.  If you do not want your child taped, please let Mrs. Simms or the office know.  Students have learned "Awesome God" in Spanish to record and send over to Honduras for our twining parish to watch! 
2/3E: Awesome God" in Spanish.  Students learned Awesome God in Spanish to record and send over to Honduras for our twining parish to watch!  We will be listening to all of our pieces, that the students have created using Finale our music notation program.

3rd grade Mrs. Ray's:  Note learning, Solfege practice and reading. Awesome God" in Spanish.  Students will be learning Awesome God in Spanish to record and send over to Honduras for our twining parish to watch! 

4th grade Eastman-   Choose day, we will do music activities of the kids choosing.

Middle School General Music Classes:  All students in general music will be writing a reflection during the next two class, which will be due at the end of the 2nd class.  A reflection, over the symphony experience.  This paper will be 5 paragraphs long with proper writing structure and grammar. 
Performers for AFD will be doing Glee Presentations that will be due on Tuesday of next week.  Performances to follow.

Kindergarten:  Nursery Rhyhms

1st grade-  Que Canten los Ninos, Simon Says 1 and 2, Sing a Happy Song, Please remember your pictures for the Honduaras project!!! Please submit them to the teachers asap!  Thank you!

2N:  "Awesome God" in Spanish.  Students will be learning Awesome God in Spanish to record and send over to Honduras for our twining parish to watch! Students will also be working on their mini projects "Music of different cultures"- Brazil, China, Native American, Africa.  Students have choosen one culture based on what they have learned about in music.  Using IPADS, research and create a mini presentation.

Check in with you child and see how many songs they have completed. Last day from recorder is Monday!

4/5 Glenn: RECORDERS will be due in class every class period.  The grades will be based on successfully completing 9 songs in the packet.  Students will receive a score at the end of the quarter for the their recorder being at school during classtime and for their completion of the work.  8-9 songs is an A, 6-7 songs is a B, 5-4 songs is a C, 2-3 songs is a D, and only 1 song is an F.  Students will have 9 weeks to complete the work.  So a song a week will make sure they have an A.  5th graders in this group will have the same repsonsibilities as the 4th graders but they will be working on more challenging pieces of music. Last day from recorder is Thursday!

5 Mc: Barred instruments presentations
Tribute and Publicity Committee will work on getting information about our honorees and creating a presentation for the Annual Fund Dinner. They will begin working on posters to be hang throughout Indianapolis.  The front Bulletin board will be created by this group to advertise for the event. 

Sound and Lights will work toward learning the sound and light board operation, working towards getting scripts labeled and organization of the tech the night of the AFD

Stage Crew and Props will make and help with the many props on the stage, scenery and all that happens behind the scenes.  Stage crew students the night of the show will be needing to come to rehearsal starting next Week.

The Performers will be be practicing vocal parts, lines, blocking, dancing and singing.  
All classes will receive grades for their work, participation and effort during the class period and with homework they might have.  I will be sending home a rubric the next week students are back to make sure expectations of the class are communicated. The event is an awesome night, the kids will show stewardship by giving of their time and talants to support the school.
