January is almost over!

Hello! Everyone! January has flown by. The kids are still working on standard 6 and now we are also incorporating standard 7. These two standards focus on listening, describing, analyzing and evaluating performances and music examples. The younger grades focus more on music in our world, and how it relates to their lives. Please check the agenda for more detailed information about your specific child's class. Please remember that I am asking students in choir for grades 5-8 to attend the open house. I will also need students on February 6th at the 12 Mass to sing in the choir. Thank you! As always, I am here for you! Let me know if you have any questions!

We're Back!!!

Hello! The last two weeks have flown by...

The kids are working with Standard 6 now and have been since we have been back. They are analyzing different music and finding musical elements. They are growing musically as they learn new concepts that are appropriate for their grade level. I have included the link to view the music standards so you understand what the kids are learning in music and on a daily basis. As you will see the standards are similar from grade to grade but each year they become more complex as the student learns. Hope the first two weeks have been a smooth transition for the kids and they have shared with you what they have learned. Happy New Year!
