Music Agenda 5/13-5/17

Next Wednesday and Thursday at the end of school, All students that will be in grades 6-8 will be coming to the music room to audition for Choir next year if they so choose.  Please talk with you children about the year long commitment for next year.  They can choose band, choir or general music as Middle School students.   

Annual Fund Dinner Videos are Due Tuesday if you would like to purchase one.  Please let me know so I can give you a form.  Also, AFD shirts are in, if your child ordered one, but did not pay...I need payment so they can get the shirt!  Thank you!

Kindergarten: Painting a house with Fritsch Trarsch Polka, Banyard Banter, and shacke and freeze tambourine.

1st grade:  Circle Games: "In and out the Window", "The Muffin Man".

 2nd Grade: Students will be using boom whackers to learn different songs in groups.  They will work as a group to master 2 songs this week.

 3rd Grade: We will be working on dynamic markings, fermata, octave and D.C. Al Fine understanding and identification.

 4th Grade: Recorder work continues.

5th grade: Still working on 16th note rhythms, students will be assessed this week.  Students will practice reading solfege with complex rhythms.
 Annual Fund Dinner Class- Clean up this week from Annual Fund.  We will work on a few new Mass pieces.

Jubilance Choir - AUDITIONS for next year this week! See note above!

6th grade: Students will be used barred instruments and learning about chords.  They will be playing a Song from England and Jamaica.

7th Grade: Students will be learning about sound waves and how sound is created.  They will understand the science behind music.

8th Grade: We will be learning how terms can be seen in art and music and how they connect.  We will be listening to absolute music and drawing conclusions with writing or drawing.  As as class we will look at how the term "belonging" relates to different aspects of music and the arts.
