It's Christmas Concert and Program Week!

The Jubilance, Band, and Guitar Groups Christmas Concert is tomorrow, Tuesday Dec. 14th at 7:00 in the Gym. Please have choir students in the music room promptly at 6:30 to get ready. Students will also be preforming during the day at 1:30 for the school.

Mrs. Norman's, Mrs. Elliot's, Mrs. McMahon, Mrs. Eastman's and Mrs. Welty's Classes will also be presenting their Christmas Program, "Once Upon A Starry Night". It is on Wed. December 15th in the gym at 7:00. Please have students at the school to get costumes on by 6:30. Students in grades 4 and 5 will be in their homerooms. Students in Mrs. Norman's and Elliot's classes will be in room 3. Any questions, please let me know. Movietyme Video Productions will be video tapping the performance, forms will be available at the time of the performance. Deadline for the forms are the night of the performance, any given after the date will be subject to shipping fees.

Students in grades PK-2 and the 6/7 general music class are singing Christmas Songs and Activities. They are also working on Creating and improvising. Please check the Agenda to find out more details!

It's Snowing!

All program parents(Jubilance and grade 2/3-5, please check out the information for the program on the Agendas. We need costumes and props from some students. Please have them in by next week (Tuesday).

In grade PK-2 and 6/7 we are composing and improvising and celebrating the Christmas season! Have a great weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone has a relaxing and enjoyable Thanksgiving! The music room is buzzing!

We are continuing our program work, listed below are things needed for each group.
will need help for the students in Mrs. Welty, Mrs. Eastman, and Mrs. McMahon classes in regards to costumes and props. Movietyme Productions professionally tapes the programs and they are available to you for purchase! I will send home the forms the first week in December.

Mrs. Welty's class, I will be making the costumes, there is a list of needed items for some props they have brainstormed for one of the songs- it is very cute! They are so creative! Any help with donations would be appreciated. Thank you to those of you who have donated already!
• 100 popsicle sticks
• silver and gold thin foam sheets (we will cut stars out of those)


Mrs. Eastman's class will be kings, queens, and camels. The kids can tell you which they are. For the kings and queens, You can put the kids in bathrobes with crowns to keep it simple, or you can go elaborate and buy or make a costume- it is up to you. For the camels, you can have them wear brown shirt and pants, and black boots- if you want to make them a hump on their back it is up to you. Please let me know any questions, so I can help if you need further assistance.

Mrs. McMahon's class will be shepherds and sheep. For the shepherds, you can put them in a bathrobe, tie a rope around their waist, scarf on their head with a rope wrapped around the top for their head piece. For the sheep they need white shirts, khacki or white pants and black boots if possible. No props needed like a shepherd crook. Please let me know any questions, so I can help if you need further assistance.

Next Week is Thanksgiving

I cannot believe how the year is flying by!  The kids are just a JOY!  Please check out the agendas under the agenda page weekly.

November is flying by!

Hello Everyone!

Thank you to all of you who read the Blog Weekly, if you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Parents of students in classes 4-5, please be thinking about costumes. The students in Eastman's class will be Kings and Queens and camels, McMahon's class will be shepherds and sheep, and Welty's class will be stars, these costumes I will be working on- I will need some help with props. Students in Welty's class have specific props for one of their songs and I will touch base with you to let you know what I need. Please have costumes at school by Dec. 1st. If you are struggling, please let me know!

Parents of PK: please keep singing with them!

K-2 and 6th, we are improvising and creating, they are so imaginative!

Jubilance: We will be going on a field trip on December 1st, please let me know if you would like to Chaperon, permission forms to follow! We have been asked to perform at Breakfast with Santa's on December 4th, please have students at school at 8:30. Remember the Mass on Dec. 5th, please have students at the church by 11:30. Please drop off students at the school and pick up at the church, do to traffic and parking

My, it's getting cold outside!

Hello! Remember this Sunday at 12:00 students from Holy Spirit will be participating in the Mass. Please have all Jubilance Choir Members at the school at 11:20(slightly earlier than last time). The Mass will be finished by 1:00. If your child cannot attend, please let me know. Thank you!

The next 2nd quarter rotation begins next Thursday. I will be having 6th grade.

Program Help Needed!!!!! Parents in classes 2/3-5, please check with your child on what they will be for the program. They will need your help getting a costume together in some of the grades. Please check in with them on how their line memorization going, ask them to practice for you...they love to perform!

In PK-2 we are singing, creating, and improvising. The music room will be getting a SMARTBOARD next week, which will be very exciting for the kids!

Next Week Are Conferences

Hello!

Time is flying by for sure! It the end of our first week in second quarter. 8th grade has began diving into the blues, PK-2 are working on improvising and creating, 2/3-5 are working on lines and preparation for the program. 2/3-5: Ask your kids what their character is and start thinking about costumes for students that are in 4th and 5th grades. 2/3 and 3rd grade will just need to wear khaki's and a white shirt the day of the program. Jubilance Parents, Remember Sunday Nov. 7th, at the 12:00 mass. Please let me know ASAP, if you child cannot attend. Come to the Harvest Hoedown this evening, there are so many fun activities planned! Have a great weekend! One of my hopes is that I get the opportunity to meet all of the parents to my students. What a great week!

This has been a great week in music!  I first want to say a great job to the all students involved in the Sunday mass! It was such a success, they kids were wonderful!  I receive many compliments on their behalf!  Tell the kids to keep up the good work.  Jubilance Parents, mark your calendars for the Mass, November 7th at 12:00! 

Parents, please check the calendar of events, a few dates have changed and I want to make sure you get the information on your calendars as early as possible!  I have bolded the changes on the calendars!

Please always check the title of all the homework Watchers I send,  becase at times I have to send them whole school.  I will always indicate what grade needs to view them if it does not apply to everyone. :)

Great week with the 6/7 grade music class, what a fun group! They are very respectful with great attitudes about completing assignments and working! 2/3-5 are working hard on the Christmas Program, I will give you more updates on what I need from you.  Please work with your child on their lines for the program, you know "practice makes permenant".  PK-2, have your kids sing with you and ask them about the music cocepts listed on the agenda, this allows them to keep reviewing what they know!

It's October!

Greetings from the Music Room!

Sunday- Students singing at the Oct. 3rd mass will need to be in the music room at 11:30 in their school uniform (jumpers or school skirts for girls, please). If you are not going to stay for the Mass please pick kids up by 1:00.

2/3-5th grade is continuing work on their program. Please talk with your child and find out what their character will be for the program. I will need some of your help getting your child's costume together. Kids received their lines this week, so be looking for those also!

This week was the first time I got to see my 6/7 class, and said goodbye to my 6th grade. Middle School's doing a great job!

Pk-2: Great work singing and learning new music skills. Ask your kids about what they are learning :)

Working Hard

Parents,

Hope you have had a great week! Please check the agendas for next week's lessons and activities! Excitement is growing about classes 2/3-5 music program. Ask your children what their character is and what costumes they will need. We will be working on the music these next few weeks. Next week is the last week with six grade music students, how the time flies! Jubilance Parents, remember the mass on Sunday October 3rd, please have students at the church by 11:15. Hello Again!

Hope everyone had a great week! Please check out the agenda to get more details on what your child is doing. Please be encouraging your kids the importance of singing in church. That is not about how they sound, its about why--because they are there to worship and participate and that is how we do it, through song.

Next week is very exciting for classes 2/3-5th grade because we will be beginning preparation for the Christmas program. I will be looking to you for help in the future with costumes, checking into make sure you child has there lines memorized and other odds and in's.

Jubilance Parents, Please note that on Sunday, October 2nd. The Choir has been asked to sing at the 12:00 mass at Holy Spirit Church, it is part of their grade, so please add it to your calendars :).

This is the second week with sixth graders and can't wait for us to dive into the Asian music culture, the kids will be singing and dancing.

In preschool and Kindergarten, we are working on beginning a repertoire(the list of songs they will know) of music. Have the kids sing to you what they have learned, it is great practice and they will love to showcase it for you!

First and second grades, excluding the 2/3 class are working on Notes, Solfege!

Happy Third Week

Hello Everyone!

I cannot believe we have been in school for three weeks! Time has flown by, I will miss my 8th grade general music students. I am excited to get my 6th grade students in general music next week. Right now in the first quarter all grades work on note recognition and note names. We learn about Solfege...DO, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do. Students are learning new songs for mass, stop in and sing with us on Wednesday's at 8:30. Have a great and relaxing weekend and as always, let me know if you need anything! Thanks!
