Welcome Back! Week of 8/18-8/21

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back to Holy Spirit, we are glad you are here! This week in music we will be doing songs, get to know you activities and name games.  Our goal for this week is for your child to feel safe with teachers and their peers.  We spend this time to foster relationships and connect each class together.  We discuss procedures to create a positive classroom environment.  Thank you for letting us teach your children!

PK Mc- We are working with the John Fierabend Curriculum which assists kids in learning to hear pitches, use their voices and steady beat in early voice development.

K-The book and song, "This little light of Mine", clapping game "Sailor", "Ruma Tum Tum"

1-Miss Mary Mack clapping song, Theatre and acting game, and name movement

2-Frog in the bucket, People to people, Human Chain game

3-Supermarket Shuffle, Rap your name, Human Knot game

4-Austrian Went Yodeling, Love but I can't smile, Moving to music

5- Band and Choir split within the curriculum- Students will engaging in participating with instruments and singing in the same class.  Students will still participate in the Christmas Program on Dec. 3rd.

Guitars- They are working with Mrs. Newhart, email me for her contact info.  Students will work on music reading, Mass music, chords, and program pieces.

Bands- Mrs. Michele Epple is the band instructor this year, mepple@holyspirit-indy.org.  Any band questions, please send her an email.

Class Choir- Working on singing with more comfort and confidence, question with a question game, Shoe mingle

Performance Choir- Cannons are fun, Love but I just can't smile, finish get to know you card game.
