Hello everyone!  Happy New Year!  I am looking forward to coming back from Maternity Leave to teach music at Holy Spirit School on January 6th!  I am excited to see all my wonderful students and get a jump start on the new learning and success in 2014!

I wanted to introduce myself, I know we have some new families to school and I wanted to let you know some information about me, looking forward to getting to know you and your children.  I am 2006 graduate from Marian University majored in Music Education.  I am a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University in 2010 with my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction.  I have a wonderful husband and two amazing kids, daughter 3, and Son 6 months, whom was born in June.

What I do in my classroom?  I provide students with opportunities to experience, participate and actively create music.  I want them to learn and grow, while having a fun.  I believe in music, that it enhances learning and as studies show allow students to be more successful academically.  Students will  grow as they learn about music, and become an active part of their own music. My focuses are  on the Music Education State Standards, Common Core Standards, ISTEP preparation, and other grade level standards.  It takes a village and at Holy Spirit we strive to progress your children as a team.

I am here to help anyway I can, if you have any concerns, questions or other needs, please do not hesitate to ask.  I am here for you!

I will update my blog by Friday at the end of the day for following week.  It will list any Plans and activities, needs for students, homework, or other announcements.  Please take the time to read it weekly, it will be much shorter than this, I just want to make sure you know what is going on, so we can work together as a team!
