Music Agenda 9/22-9/26


Kindergarten- Hello Song,  Goodbye song, Number Rock,Rum A Tum Tum, ABC, Sports Dance, Animals Action, Freeze Dance, Music Program Preparation begins- Reprise: It's a Jungle out There, We appreciate you, Frog and Toad together, Good Friends.  The Program is on October 9th at 7:00.  We are going to work on costumes this week, I may ask you for some help as I go assigning to kids in their groups.  I will let you know as things unfold.   


First Grade-  Music Program Preparation begins- Reprise: It's a Jungle out There, It's a Jungle Out There, King of the Jungle, Good Friends. Students will be getting a speaking line to prepare and practice for the program.  We will practice in class, but every little bit helps!  Program is on October 9th at 7:00.  Please let me know if your child cannot attend!  Students have gotten their lines, please practice nightly.   Practice makes permanent, the lines will come easier the more they practice.  Any questions or concerns, please let me know!

Second Grade-  Music Program Preparation begins- 
 Reprise: It's a Jungle out There, Party Animals, Goin Bananas, Everything is Funny to me. Students will be getting a speaking line to prepare and practice for the program.  We will practice in class, but every little bit helps!  Program is on October 9th at 7:00.  Please let me know if your child cannot attend! Students have gotten their lines, please practice nightly.   Practice makes permanent, the lines will come easier the more they practice.  Any questions or concerns, please let me know!

Third Grade- Learning folk dances from other cultures  Last week we learned the Dance Sasha from Russia, we will be learning Yiesh an possibly another dance that is from the US

Fourth Grade- Music Around the World.  We are exploring with use of the textbook, different cultures throughout the words in music.  We are singing in different languages, moving in different ways and learning facts and interesting and new ways people in other parts of the world celebrate, live and work. 


Fifth Grade- Students will be researching and creating presentations about cultures around the world.  We will have an account on Zoho.com, which is similar to powerpoint with Microsoft.  Students will present, grades will be based off the rubric in class.

Choir- Individual vocal conferences to talk about personal vocal goals. Vocal Terms review- Vowels, Breathing, Posture, Facial Expression, Tone Quality, Dynamic levels, This Flag We Fly, Enjoy the show, Sight Reading, Mass Practice, Mass Expectations, Figgy Pudding, Merry Merry Joy Joy, Season of Bells, Christmas Wonderland.  Our Christmas Concert is on December 11th at 7:00.   We will be taking a caroling field trip for the performance choir group only, dates and details to follow. 

Band-Any student without an instrument will be put on recorder, I am requesting your child submits $5 for me to buy a recorder for them to use and keep as their own. The band is working on daily exercises as warm ups, we will be start working on Christmas Music for our concert.  Advanced students will have some different pieces than beginners, as beginners will have of their own too. We are working on tone quality with all instruments, as well as cleaning and proper care of the instruments. Please let me know if you have any concerns!  Our Christmas Concert is on December 11th at 7:00!  Mark your Calendars!
